Stop Overpaying For IT And Media Services With These Simple Money Saving Tips

So much of our lives these days depend on technology, that we can be lost without it or if something goes wrong. Trying to find help to sort it out on the other hand is not always so easy.
Manufacturer support
Turning to the manufacturer or service provider is often the first port of call, but this can have mixed results. Computer manufacturers for example, will have troubleshooting forums and offer free email and telephone support, including remote access. This is usually available for several months after purchase, but after that you are likely to have to pay a subscription for any more support. Even then the support calls themselves can be lengthy and costly, especially if only premium numbers are available to call.
External support
If you can’t find the answers there, don’t want to commit to the cost of manufacturer’s support packages, or want support for a range of brands, then external tech support services may be the answer. These can range from one-man bands to larger companies, and different services will have different prices depending on what they offer. Many ask for a one-time set up fee and this can vary greatly between providers.
Cost
Some offer a pay as you go service for fixes which is a great option for users with small budgets. Others offer a monthly subscription plan for an agreed amount of support, which can be more cost effective for users who require regular routine maintenance or support. Annual plans will be cheaper in the long run, but will require more money upfront. Those that offer customized services are even better, so you can tailor a plan to your specific needs.
Type of Support
You need to check that they offer support for all the products that you may need help with in the future and what type of tech services they offer. Is it just diagnostics or does it also include virus and malware help and data recovery?
Quality
Microsoft or Apple will certify the best tech support services for example, but it’s important to check that they have sufficient experience in dealing with your product. Try and find a company that offers a free trial of their services and make sure that they are working on an encrypted connection.
