How To Choose A Hot Tub You'll Enjoy For Years

Few things in life are as relaxing as kicking back in a hot tub, and as a nation more and more of us are investing in a hot tub for our home.
There are an estimated 25 million households with hot tubs in the US today! It’s an increasingly competitive market so we do recommend getting expert advice.
What kind of hot tubs are out there?
For pure leisure use there are three different kinds of hot tub to choose from: portable or soft hot tubs, acrylic tubs, and unicast hot tubs. So what’s the difference? A portable tub is often called a vinyl liner hot tub, and it’s at the cheaper end of the scale.
If you are renting your home this could be an ideal solution, since you can pick up your tub and take it with you! Unicast hot tubs come enclosed in a surround. This limits the size they can be, and these tend to be hot tubs for 2 to 4 people.
If you want something larger or even bespoke, an acrylic hot tub is the way to go - this kind of tub is the best selling in America today. Most acrylic hot tubs are made for 6, but the size can increase to take 10 people.
Do the jets vary in hot tubs?
There are several different kinds of jets. Pressure jets are the strongest and rotary the most therapeutic. Somewhere in the middle are relaxation jets.
What else should I be thinking about?
There are a few different water treatment options available these days. The most natural is the salt system, but for cleaning out remnants of shampoo and soap residue an ozone system might be the way to go. There is also a new system on the market, the UV-C system. It uses germicidal light rays to clean up your tub.
What else might I need to purchase?
As well as your hot tub purchase you’ll need to think about the ambience that you want to create. Consider whether you’ll need landscaping and lighting. At the more extravagant end of the scale, you might want a sound system or a remote system that allows you to pre-heat your hot tub before you reach home! One must-buy item is a cover for your hot tub.
