Why You Should Visit Croatia Before The Rest Of The World Catches On

Croatia is a spectacular country and seems to fly under the radar when it comes to popular holiday destinations amongst tourists. The difference with Croatia holidays is, there is so much on offer without it being spoiled or overcrowded by an overflow of tourists every year. The peak season in Croatia lies in July and August when the weather is at its warmest and the coastline is at its finest. This is Croatia’s busiest time of year for tourists and when the cities come alive. It is, of course, more crowded and you will have to deal with longer queues and busier restaurants, but you will be able to experience Croatia at its best.

Naturally beautiful

Croatia is a beautiful country with outstanding natural landmarks with nothing like it to be seen anywhere else in the world. The Plitvice Lakes are truly unique and beautiful, the formation combines 16 different lakes to make one of the most coveted natural destinations in Europe. Croatia has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe which compete with the likes of Greece and Spain any day. There are both natural and modern beaches to choose from along with a varied and picturesque coastline filled with rocks, islands, cliffs and reefs.

Local delicacies

Croatian food varies by region, but you will most likely find gastronomic creations packed with Mediterranean flavours. The abundance of coastal towns brings in fresh and delicious seafood combined with Greek, Italian and French influences. The Slavic climate makes for ideal vineyard conditions and an impeccable wine selection.

Dubrovnik

The number one destination in Croatia is the enchanting coastal city of Dubrovnik, known for its well-preserved architecture an old-time feel. The ancient walls of Dubrovnik are the standout attraction and will let you explore and take in the beauty of the entire city on foot. The size of Dubrovnik is perfect, it is small enough to explore everything without having to hire a car or deal with long travel times, but large enough to leave you with plenty to see. Ancient architecture is well preserved throughout Croatia where you can see awe-inspiring cathedrals, churches, amphitheatres and palaces.
