If you are looking for a low maintenance, hassle free, fly-and-flop kind of vacation, then an all-inclusive deal is probably your best option. All-inclusive vacations are resorts where all food, drink and most activities are included in your room rate.
You know exactly how much to budget for, and there is no need to sign for every little incidental you order whilst you are there. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of an all-inclusive vacation.
Consider buying a package deal
Take a look at the travel companies that bundle in a flight deal. These companies often buy the rooms wholesale from the hotel at a discounted price and pass these discounts on. Be sure to check the airfares in the market before you buy though, to make sure you’re getting a good deal overall.
Check out which resort will suit you best
Many all-inclusive resorts will cater for specific customer groups. Sandals for example specialize in romance and couples, whereas Beaches is specifically for families. Also double check which activities are included as at some resorts you can pay some hefty supplements. So if you know you are going to want to be playing golf every day or going out scuba diving, make sure the resort includes these activities in your package.
A few tips once you’re there
If your resort has lots of dining options, we advise you book in your dinner reservations pretty much the first day - the fine dining restaurants will be where everyone wants to go, so they may well be booked up days in advance.
If you plan to go out for the day, don’t be afraid to ask for a packed lunch, as you’ve paid for it after all. If your resort offers room service in the all-inclusive package, take advantage of it - those little luxuries are what vacations are for and don’t often come without a hefty price tag.
