Stop Overpaying For Your TV Packages With These Simple Bundling Secrets

TV packages are a good way to save money by grouping together expenses like cable, internet and phone lines. Packages can also include a different number of channels depending on your interest, with the price tag varying accordingly. If you watch lots of TV then you may want to spend more (up to approximately $150 per month) for hundreds of channels including sports, culture and special interest. However if you don’t watch much at all you may prefer a cheaper, more basic deal. There are also different types of technology to choose from.
Cable
Basic cable currently costs around $16 a month, with a smaller amount of around $7 required for the cable box rental. This kind of package will not include premium movie or sports channels. Providers include Comcast, the largest in the US.
Satellite
DirecTV is a well-known provider that offers channels from the same major networks you’ll find on cable. An HD DVR is provided (this decodes the signals for your TV), and a dish will need to be installed on your property. Another provider would be DISH network.
Fiber optic
This new technology offers better viewing quality and less interruptions due to weather or other issues. Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-verse and CenturyLink Prism are all providers of this service.
Bundling
It may be better value to bundle your TV in with another service in order to save money. For example, the new X1 DVR from Comcast is currently only available when you sign up for internet and a home phone line too.
Price comparison
It makes sense to look online and do some research into the main providers and see what kind of package works out best for you. Decide what sort of TV channels you want to watch, plus any other service such as internet, and go from there.
