With hybrid vehicles becoming more and more mainstream, the range of vehicles available continues to expand. More and more auto manufacturers are moving into this space including some of the luxury car companies. So here is our round-up of some of the best value and best performing vehicles available.
Toyota Prius
One of the very first hybrid cars to hit the streets, the Toyota Prius still regularly makes it on to any top 10 list. At a starting price of around $25,000 it is one of the cheapest hybrid models, but its biggest selling points remains just how green this vehicle is. In the city it averages a whopping 58 miles per gallon.
Ford Fusion
A touch more expensive than the Prius at around an average price of $27,000, the Ford Fusion is one of our favorite recommendations because it offers the great extras that come with any Ford these days. It’s also a great ride and has good fuel economy at around 44 miles per gallon in the city. If you are buying your first hybrid this could be the model for you.
Audi A3 Sportback
One of the more affordable hybrid cars offered by the luxury car companies, this model averages a price of around $39,000. It’s a typically slick Audi ride and is a great vehicle for resale value. It averages around 35 miles per gallon in traffic
Toyota Highlander SUV
This is a crossover SUV with 7 seats. We rate this hybrid for its good acceleration, quiet ride and range of features. At an average of 27 miles per gallon it’s a decent option in its competitive set.
The prices quoted are the average market prices that we found in March 2016.
