Give Your Pet A Luxury Vacation With These High End Pet Hotels

If leaving your pet behind while you go off on vacation laces you with guilt, the growing trend for pet hotels could be the answer. Pet hotels are very much like pet boarding but with extra luxury touches. Bear in mind the cost will be higher than conventional boarding, but your pet will be pampered and very looked after – maybe even better than at home!

Extra services

Pet hotels are especially suited to dogs, as they require more attention on a day-to-day basis than, for example, cats do. Your pet can expect full days of indoor/outdoor playtime and extra attention from the staff. When booking, make sure that your pet hotel has large play areas, both inside and out. If you live in a hot area, then the inside zones should be air conditioned – just like your home would be. Make sure there’s a vet on 24-hour call also.

Rooms

Your pet will always have their own room, very likely with the option of a TV. Other comfort features include memory foam beds and meal plans. Bear in mind extra features may also cost more. Cats should have lots of space, preferably with a scratch post tower, and should be kept far away from dogs.

Where can I find pet hotels?

It’s best to research online and, if you can, visit in person to check on the facilities. You will be asked about vaccinations and your pet won’t be allowed to stay if any are out of date, so make sure that’s taken care of before you book or arrive.

Pet friendly hotels

More and more hotels, motels and resorts are realizing that the whole family want to stay together, and there’s an increasing number of pet friendly hotels available in the US. Some offer VIP (Very Important Pet) services which can include in-room amenities like beds, bowls and bottled water, to room service menus, massages, and squeaky toys. Some also provide dog walkers and dog parks, or allow dogs into limited common areas.
